Biking in Oregon started out very damp.
It was the cleanest state with the least roadside trash!
Great biking lanes, courteous drivers and lots of low cost campgrounds with free showers. It's a biking thoroughfare.
So green and beautiful, it was difficult to keep riding without stopping every few minutes to take pictures. We loved staying an extra day as guests of the Salvestrin-Hamilton clan at their condo in Newport.
Oregon wins the prize for most and worst hills. But we are stronger for it!

What are they up to now? Flushed with musical theater success, they are bicycling the Pacific Coast from Port Angeles, Washington at the Canadian border, to Imperial Beach, California at the Mexican border. It's an unsupported trip sure to be full of camping and hotel hijinx as they travel highway 1 from April 28 to June 14, 2014.
