Ok.
We turned in the minivan at Avis and the guy generously gave us a ride to our motel. After he and Peter swapped military stories. For quite a while.
We have had tons of lucky breaks so far. We were going to turn in the van in Seattle and take a ferry and ride to Port Angeles, but as we got to studying exactly where to go we realized that would mean a 70 mile ride to our motel.
it was only about a half-inch away on the map.....
Then Avis said we could turn it in at their new terminal in P.A., which actually opens May first.
Slept in luxury at Super8.
What are they up to now? Flushed with musical theater success, they are bicycling the Pacific Coast from Port Angeles, Washington at the Canadian border, to Imperial Beach, California at the Mexican border. It's an unsupported trip sure to be full of camping and hotel hijinx as they travel highway 1 from April 28 to June 14, 2014.
